2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness

The all-new 2022 Subaru Outback wilderness is the first vehicle in the wilderness family and is loaded with off-road-ready upgrades! The wilderness is equipped with higher ground clearance, a turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine, and all-terrain tires. It also includes Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, as well as the award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and an 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia system with an integrated center information display.

Advanced Safety Features

The wilderness was designed for unlimited adventure and uncompromising safety. The 2022 Outback features the confidence of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with up to 33 MPG. It includes safety features such as standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology and the available DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System. The outback has up to 9.5 inches of ground clearance and standard X-MODE. The X-MODE works by optimizing the Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive System for maximum traction.

New Wheels

The new Off-road wheels with All-Terrain Tires were built for any adventure! The standard 17-inch matte-black alloy wheels provide improved performances in even the toughest trail conditions. There is also a full-size spare hidden below the cargo area for extra peace of mind when you’re out on the trails.

Engine & Performance

The wilderness features a standard 260-horsepower at 5,600 rpm direct-injected turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine that delivers 277 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle also features Re-Tuned gearing with revised front ratios for improved low-speed climbing – up to a 40% grade.

Exterior & Interior Styling

The Wilderness offers extended exterior cladding and high-clearance front and rear bumpers for extra protection around wheel wells and lower impact zones. It includes an exclusive exterior paint color like the Geyser Blue with functional Anodized Copper finish accents making the Wildernesses standout on any summit. The interior includes high-quality material made for adventures. The seats are wrapped Subaru StarTex water-repellent material that includes the Subaru Wilderness logo embossed in the headrests. A bold copper-colored contrast stitch is seen throughout the interior and brushed aluminum pedals also give the model a sporty look. Standard all-weather floor mats also display the Subaru Wilderness logo. In the cargo area, the rear seat-back is wrapped in a waterproof material as well as a waterproof rear cargo tray that protects the load floor.

Technology

The 2022 Outback Wilderness features a standard STARLINK Multimedia system with an 11.6-inch touchscreen plus Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration as well as a rear vision camera. An 11.6-inch Multimedia with Navigation is available as part of an option package that also includes a power moonroof and Reverse Automatic Braking. Exclusive to Outback Wilderness, the X-MODE display features a new Roll-Angle Indicator to help the driver navigate off-road terrain.
