I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful pet adoption event we hosted together yesterday. It was truly a joy to be part of such a meaningful occasion and to support your incredible rescue efforts. Seeing the smiles on the faces of potential adopters and the excitement of the pets was inspiring. We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with your team and contribute to finding loving homes for these animals. We received 58 applications that day and another 18 applications via email we are working diligently on vetting the applications and our qr code we had with us for the slide show for dogs we did not bring also brought in 4 of the 18 applications via email.

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for hosting such a wonderful pet adoption event. Your dedication to connecting loving homes with deserving animals is truly inspiring. Attending the event at Competition Subaru was such a joy, and I'm thrilled to share that I found the newest addition to my family - the cutest Dachshund! From the moment I laid eyes on them, I knew they were meant to be a part of our lives. Their wagging tail and soulful eyes melted my heart instantly. I cannot thank you enough for providing a platform where pets in need can find loving homes and families like mine can find furry companions to cherish. Your hard work and commitment to this cause are evident in the success of the event, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity it provided me. Please extend my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and staff who contributed to making the event a memorable one. Your collective efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of these animals and the families who have welcomed them into their homes. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for hosting such a meaningful event. Stony Brook Children's would like to thank Competition Subaru for their generous support of the expansion of the Pediatric Emergency Department! This project will help to double the capacity for our pediatric emergency patients, support our level one pediatric trauma program, permit the creation of a telemedicine program with community hospitals, among much more. The Alfano Elementary School Community is very appreciative of Subaru's most generous educational donation, which we were fortunate to have received for the 2022-2023 School Year. Upon convening to explore the most effective ways to expend our Subaru grant, as Principal of Alfano Elementary School, I am pleased to share with you the numerous educational initiatives, which we were able to acquire to infuse into our students' curriculum. Those educational initiatives and programs include, but are not limited to an abundance of school supplies to ensure our students are equipped with the tools they need to successfully complete their studies, subscriptions, journals, novel studies, and various math manipulatives. The Alfano Elementary School Community looks forward to continuing our wonderful partnership with Competition Subaru of Smithtown.

Competition Subaru of Smithtown recently welcomed Paws of War to their facility to present Paws with a check, where they donated $15,848 to support Paws of War mission. Competition Subaru has been changing the lives of Veterans and providing crucial support for the animals that we rescue since 2019. Without the continued support and partnerships like Competition Subaru we would not be able to continue the important work that we do "Helping Both Ends of the Leash." Their support will help continue to provide crucial care for our animals, as well as provide training to our Veterans and dogs that are adopted to become service and/or therapy dogs.

On Tuesday, 03/07/2023, James Buzzetta along with some of the staff from Competition Subaru of Smithtown stopped by to drop off donations of new socks (over 4 large boxes) for the work here at Pax Christi Hospitality Center. Pax Christi Hospitality Center, located in Port Jefferson, is a 24 bed emergency housing facility serving males 16 years of age and older of Suffolk County, New York. Pax Christi also serves as an outreach and drop-in center for men and women experiencing homelessness and/or in need of support of one kind or another. The drop-in component of our work averages 20 walk-ins per day. These outreach and housing services are offered 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Pax Christi Hospitality Center is under the direction of Hope House Ministries. Donations of socks may seem simple but when you are living on the streets or from place to place and you come in for some services or for housing having the opportunity to put on a new pair of socks can begin to help someone feel more clean, stable and grounded. Thank you, James and those from Subaru who had a hand in these generous donations and your support of the work here at Pax Christi Hospitality Center and Hope House Ministries. Sincerely, Stephen Brazeau, LCSW-R Director, Pax Christi Hospitality Center

For Our Friends rescued Timmy, a senior poodle, from NYC shelter. He was surrendered by his family when they became unable to care for him. In our care, he was fully vetted and well cared for. Seniors dogs can have a harder time getting adopted, but because of Competition Subaru and its promotion of our adoption event on October 10, 2022, Timmy found a great forever home. He is truly cherished for the great little boy he is.

I learned to drive with a family-owned car that is as old as I am. As a college undergrad, I scraped together some down money and secured a part-time job to afford a car lease, insurance, and gas. The commute to school and work was considerable. A new car was needed. Reliability, safety, and gas mileage were top of my list. My dad has spent much of his life as a pilot mitigating risk. So I asked him for car recommendations. He responded with one, Subaru. Through undergrad and graduate school, I leased two Subaru Crosstreks. Before my second lease was up, I received an offer to work in Manhattan. Financially, commuting was out of the picture, and I had thirteen months left on my car lease. Subaru of Smithtown stepped in and offered to buy back my lease. It was mutually beneficial. Fortunately, that wasn’t the end of our relationship. I moved to NYC in June of 2021 and decided it was time to cross The New York City Marathon off my bucket list. I wanted to stay connected to my Long Island roots and got in touch with United Way Long Island. Aligned with their mission of supporting Long Island veterans and their families, I became a part of the 2022 Mission United Marathon team. It was so rewarding to raise money and awareness for Mission United and I am greatly appreciative for the support from my network of colleagues, friends and family. During my fundraising pursuit I also sought out organizations that match donations and support veteran causes. In my research, I was delighted to learn that Smithtown of Subaru was a company that supported veteran causes. I was extremely grateful when manager James Buzzetta responded to my email and promptly provided a donation that helped meet my midway fundraising goal just in time! Thank you, Subaru! Thank you for exceeding my expectations and building a long-term relationship with customers and the community! Samantha Vallarella

Thanks to the Riverhead Bay Motors Subaru and Competition Subaru of Smithtown dealerships, and the Metro New York Region of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or surgery, at Stony Brook Cancer Center and in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMT) at Stony Brook University Hospital, will be able to cuddle up with a warm blanket to help provide physical and emotional comfort. As patients often feel chilled after receiving treatment, having a brand new comfy blanket to cheer them is very much welcomed. In addition to the blankets, Subaru also donated craft kits for our pediatric patients with cancer. All of this was made possible through the “Subaru Love to Care” program, which pledges to bring love, hope and messages of encouragement to patients carrying on their brave fight. “The blankets are not only a source of comfort for our patients, but it’s like being wrapped in a caring and friendly hug,” said Taylor Andrews, RN, Nurse Manager, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. On behalf of all of our patients at Stony Brook Cancer Center and the BMT Unit at Stony Brook University Hospital, we thank you all for the generous donation and support!

Some people see with their hearts, blind to the imperfections of others and unconditional in their love. These are the kinds of rare individuals we count as blessings at Save-A-Pet this holiday season and always. Without this kind of devotion, what chance would any of our most needy companions have for the life they deserve? When we got the desperate call to help Gizmo, we rushed to action. There’s not always a long-term plan in place at a shelter. Life or death doesn’t have time for that. The emergency animal hospital was presented with a dog who had been violently attacked, which resulted in him losing his left eye. While gruesome in its resulting wound, that wasn’t the worst part. You see Gizmo only had one eye to begin with, also lost by some sort of situation. We know what you’re thinking.... So perhaps it was a blessing that his owners no longer wanted him and asked the hospital staff to just euthanize him. And they walked out the door.A dog with no eyes is not discarded at Save-A-Pet. We welcomed Gizmo into our care with the promise of healing, the commitment to a safe life, and the assurance that we would nd his forever person. We posted his story on social media and just one day later, Karen entered our center.Having experience with a special needs dogs, Karen is a person who sees with her heart. When she heard about Gizmo, she immediately came to Save-A-Pet to take him home. There, he is already learning to see from within. To feel the loving arms around him. To trust in the guidance that is steadfast and reassuring ashe learns to navigate this new life. Though his paws hardly ever touch the ground, Gizmo loves his new home. His brothers, Riley (who wears a helmet due to neurologic issues and Walter, (one of our holiday hundred from 2017) and this adventurous, visionary journey that promises the life he has always deserved. Thank you Subaru for helping us help the underdogs of the world!

I just want to pass along my sincerest thanks on behalf of Smithtown Children's Foundation. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated. Squash was confiscated from a horrific dog fighting ring in Macon, GA. We brought her up to our shelter in NY, along with 3 others and her journey to healing began. Although she endured unfathomable cruelty, her gentle spirit shined through. Squash was one of the dogs we brought to the Share the Love Event at Competition Subaru of Smithtown, and everyone fell in love with her. Through this event, Squash found her forever home. No longer will she be used and abused for profit. Although she still wears the scars of her past, this 4 year old dog has a future filled with hope and love. We are so grateful to Subaru for showcasing Squash and the other wonderful dogs from Save-A-Pet. They all found wonderful homes!

Competition Subaru of Smithtown chooses a local charity every year to be the recipient of their “Share the Love” campaign. Stony Brook Children’s was the very lucky beneficiary of the 2018 campaign and received a whopping $100,000!!! The monies raised are going to our Pediatric Cancer program and Sunrise Fund. The Sunrise Fund was founded in 1999 by Susan Shiebler and Maureen Brennan, whose children were treated for cancer at Stony Brook Medicine. The purpose of the fund is to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to support specific projects including a respite center, a playroom, extended support services, facilities and programs that meet our families growing needs, and vital research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers. “The very generous donation from Subaru will tremendously help our program and the children of Long Island who have cancer. Funds will be used for programs that support patients and their families as well as research to improve the lives of children with cancer,” said Dr. Laura Hogan, Director, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. On behalf of the pediatric cancer patients, we thank you for the very generous donation and support!

Each year Competition Subaru of Smithtown chooses an animal shelter to feature in their "Subaru Loves Pets" campaign, wherein donations are collected to help support a local animal shelter. For the past two years Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton, NY has been chosen to be the recipient of these donations. This year the campaign focused on collecting donations for the dogs and cats in our care, including dogs that have been rescued from "high kill" shelters located in the hurricane ravaged regions in Texas and Puerto Rico. The dogs are flown up from these areas, then brought to Kent where they receive medical attention, including getting spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. All of this is done in preparation for them to begin a new chapter in their lives in a new home with a loving family. Kent Animal Shelter is a not for profit animal shelter (501c3). We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary next year! We are a temporary home for nearly 100 cats and 35 dogs, all awaiting a new beginning. We love them all as if they were our own. None of this would be possible without the support of our community, including all of the wonderful staff at Competition Subaru. Lisa Sessa, the General Sales Manager, organized this year's campaign, and couldn't have been nicer! If you're in the market for a new car, head on over to Competition Subaru today! We are looking forward to collaborating with Lisa and her staff next year!

In the Fall of 2016, while getting the oil changed on my 2014 WRX at Competition Subaru of St. James, NY, I was approached by a salesman who introduced himself as Tim McCrum. During a pleasant discussion about the cars in my household, I was made aware that given the current Lease offers from Subaru, he could get my Wife Susan into a 2016 Crosstrek(which she loved since their release in 2013) for the same monthly payment as her current 2010 Mazda 3. A few days later, a visit to the dealership was in order for a test drive. Needless to say Susan was in love and after Tim's help, along with that of Dina in finance, the deal was done. Later that month, we took delivery of a beautiful 2016 Dark Gray Metallic Premium model which made us a happy two Subaru family. What may seem odd to some and normal to others, is just how enjoyable we both find washing and caring for our Subaru's. Weather permitting, an afternoon washing away Long Island grime with our trusty Foam Cannon is never a bad day spent. Funny how a car so easy to get dirty in a multitude of terrains, can be so important to keep clean! I summed this up pretty well on Instagram with my caption of the attached photo, "If you don't do this after a car wash....Your'e driving the wrong car"! Sincerely (a proud Subaru Ambassador), John Brass @shutupandsh1ft Sayville, NY

The William Floyd High School Career & Technical Education Department would like to thank Competition Subaru of Smithtown for their continued support to our Automotive Program. Two years ago, we had just a few vehicles for students to work on and now our facilities are full! Vincent Moscardino has been an outstanding mentor, allowing students to intern and learn more about the field. He has been a dedicated member of our Industry Advisory Board reviewing curriculum, ensuring that we are in line with the current industry trends. He has been a guest lecturer and evaluator for student certification exams. The Subaru partnership strengthens our program and provides excellent opportunities for our students. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our school district!?

I have leased several vehicles from this company without incident up to this point. With my most recent lease with Competition there was some complications with the financial institution that I had my last lease with. Competition and it's staff went above and beyond to rectify the problem exceeding my expectations. I am writing to express my appreciation and thanks for the excellent service I received from the staff at Competition Subaru. All of my experiences with Competition Subaru have been informative, courteous and effective and as a direct result, have earned a loyal customer for life.

This is the first year of our school's garden club. As a new club we have no budget and supplies were limited. I was excited when I got an e-mail from my principal about the garden offer from Subaru. I mentioned it to the kids in the club and we sent in our application. Several months later Subaru informed us that we were a recipient of a mini wildlife habitat. The pants came in the mail along with a gift card from Competition Subaru to purchase additional plants and supplies. About a week later I received a call from, Lisa Sessa, at Competition Subaru that they would like to visit our garden. We agreed upon a time and when Competition Subaru came to visit they brought our club some wonderful supplies. They came through with gardening tools, a bird bath, bird feeders and two bird houses. Their generosity was well above what I had expected and this helped our club get its feet off the ground. Thank you Competition Subaru.

Competition Subaru of Smithtown join the Long Island Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to deliver blankets, craft kits and messages of hope to patients at the Stony Brook Cancer Center and Stony Brook Children’s. Lisa Sessa, Sales Manager, along with district Manager Triscia, heard firsthand from Childlife specialists and staff about the impact of these deliveries. They spoke about how often times they have limited number of supplies of items, like the craft kits, because pediatric patients immune systems are so sensitive and need to be protected, so they are unable to have the children share supplies. Sessa commented, "At Competition Subaru, we are thrilled to be making such a positive impact on the children and patients being served on Long Island." She shared the outpouring of messages that were written by customers.

During Subaru's June Loves to Care month, the Long Island Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was honored with partnering up with Competition Subaru of Smithtown to provide blankets and care cards with messages of hope to patients undergoing cancer treatments at Stony Brook University Hospital. We were greeted by oncology nurses in the Transplant Center, one of the only ones in Suffolk County, who shared with us the incredible impact the blankets and care cards would have on their patients and families. This particular unit has 16 beds which are unfortunately always full and patients stay anywhere from 1 month to a year or more. Having something special like a soft blanket to help them get through this difficult time is so special and comforting. It's a small act that makes a big difference. LLS is thrilled to be working with a company as wonderful as Subaru and we hope that together we can help spread awareness of LLS and Subaru of America’s goal to provide hope and care, one gesture at a time.
Terri Q.
On behalf of the entire Stony Brook Cancer Center oncology staff, and especially for the patients, we offer you a heartfelt thank you for your generosity and compassion. Cancer touches everyone – a family member, a friend, a colleague, a neighbor. Cancer doesn’t discriminate. As patients and caregivers, we are confident that our clinical team is top notch and we will receive expert medical care. It is the journey through cancer, and the potential side effects, that are devastating. Your choice to donate a beautiful crafted, cheerful blanket to our patients was perfect! People undergoing chemotherapy, or surgery or radiation are often chilly. A cuddly, warm blanket is just what is needed to bring a smile to your face. The messages of hope are just as important. Many of our patients could use a few words of encouragement. Knowing that a community member took the time to write a few words is inspirational and gives hope to the patient. I wish I could somehow impart upon you how valuable your contribution of your time and concern is to our patients. Everyone can use an extra shot of support. You have made a huge difference in the lives of our cancer patients. On behalf of the inpatients (those who are receiving their treatment while in the hospital), our pediatric patients (our littlest warriors), and our outpatients (those who visit the cancer center for their treatments), we thank you again for taking the time to care for others.

As part of their ongoing Competition Cares Campaign, Competition Subaru of Smithtown in St. James is proud to give back to the community it serves. During this past holiday season, and as part of Subaru's Share the Love Event, Competition Subaru raised $77,019 in support of the John Theissen Children's Foundation, a local charity that has been providing toys and medical expense assistance to families of sick and underprivileged children in hospitals and child care facilities across Long Island, year-round since 1992. The organization also donates recreational and therapeutic equipment to these facilities as well. "This is the fifth year that Competition Subaru has been involved with the John Theissen Children's Foundation and we plan on continuing our support for years to come" said Vincent Moscardino, General Manager for Competition Subaru. Nancy Buzzetta, Owner and President of Competition Subaru added, "I am so proud of all the people at Competition Subaru who made this possible. To see all their hard work and efforts result in us being able to provide support to the John Theissen Children's Foundation is extremely rewarding." In honor of this accomplishment, Competition Subaru held a luncheon at the dealership where representatives of Subaru Distributors Corporation were also there to present the check for $77,019 to John Theissen.
