Competition Subaru of Smithtown is excited to announce its partnership with LIPHA (Long Island Professional Horsemen’s Association). This association helps gather professional horsemen, exhibitors and members for important horse events. They are one of 16 chapters nationwide that are involved in the PHA. Not only does this association help by gathering these members and people of similar interests, but they are always willing to give back. A scholarship program is offered to the college and trade school students no matter if they are professional, associate or junior members. Helpful AND fair? Sounds a little too perfect, huh? If that wasn’t enough, they also want to raise the standards of typical horse shows on Long Island. The association offers point classes in 21 divisions. Members then can compete for awards at the end of the year. You learn so much more than horse’s and the sport, this program really strives to push for good sportsmanship in a competitive field. Educating members on conducting a healthy space where there can be friendly competition. Adults and children can learn from others and it motivates you to push yourself a little more. This program also shines a bright light on member recognition. You are currently able to view the 2021 LIPHA High Score Award Winners. You can take a look at the horses as well as the riders and so much more. Scholarships are currently being accepted for their 69th Annual LIPHA Show. Competition Subaru of Smithtown is proud to help sponsor Mr Glen Olszewski as he participates again this year in the “ Empire State Ride on Saturday July 23,2022. ThIs charitable bike ride benefits cancer research at the Roswell institute in Buffalo, NY. Last summer Glen biked on a 7 day adventure from Staten Island to Niagara Falls, all in effort to raise money and spread awareness. As of today Glen and his team have raised over 1.6 Million dollars to help aid in Cancer Research. This February is Subaru Loves to Help Month and here at Competition Subaru we want to do our part in making a difference to those who are in need. Pax Christi Hospitality Center is an emergency shelter that offers guests who are homeless a safe place to go. They offer case management, drug and alcohol counseling, mental health counseling, linkages to benefits and resources in the community as well as the basics of food and shelter. Pax Christi, offers guests who are homeless a safe alternative to the streets. Since 2007, November has been dedicated to raising awareness for people dealing with homelessness and educating the public on ways to help end homelessness. Subaru of America and Subaru retailers are taking action by partnering with local homeless shelters to personally deliver water-resistant blankets and warm socks to help those in need. Last November, as part of Subaru Loves to Help, Subaru of America and its retailers provided 50,000 warm blankets to homeless shelters across the country. This year, Subaru and its retailers are doing it again to bring the total donation to 100,000 blankets to help those experiencing homelessness. In addition to more blankets, 50,000 pairs of socks will also be donated. Competition Subaru Proud To Support Pax Christi Hospitality Center Competition Subaru will be donating 80 blankets to the Pax Christi Hospitality Center. These blankets feature soft fleece on one side and waterproof material on the other, providing comfort and function for people who may be displaced. The Pax Christi Hospitality Center offers guests who are homeless a safe alternative to the streets. Pax Christi offers case management, drug and alcohol counseling, mental health counseling, linkages to benefits and resources in the community, as well as the basics of food and shelter. Over 50 active volunteers assist with cleaning, making beds, painting, serving meals, and providing food and clothing for guests. This gesture of kindness and warmth shows our support and compassion for those who find themselves without a roof over their heads this season and lets them know that someone is thinking of them.
