Subaru Crosstrek & Outback Success: Celebrating Community Connections and Our Annual Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event!

At Competition Subaru, we’re thrilled to see how much people are enjoying the Subaru lineup! With the Subaru Crosstrek gaining popularity and the Subaru Outback continuing to shine, we couldn't be happier to connect with both first-time buyers and loyal Subaru owners. It’s fantastic to see so many families choosing Subaru, especially knowing how well our vehicles support car seats and provide a safe, comfortable ride for little ones. Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales at Subaru of America, Inc., recently shared, "With Crosstrek’s popularity steadily growing and Outback seeing continued success, both carlines closed out the month with very strong results, connecting with both first-time and returning Subaru owners. As retailers support their local animal shelters during Subaru Loves Pets this month, customers may even find a new road trip companion while visiting the showroom or Service Center." This achievement reflects the love and trust drivers have for these models, which perfectly blend versatility and reliability for all your adventures. As we welcome both new customers and returning friends into our showroom, we’re reminded of the strong connections we build within our community. Your experiences fuel our passion for providing exceptional service and support: "This is our fourth lease with Competition Subaru of Smithtown. They are always accommodating and attentive to details. Farrell was fantastic and we love the car." -Jason, October 2nd, 2024 "Competition Subaru is extremely helpful and attentive to any and all needs pertaining to my car, its routine visits and scheduled maintenance as well as any other questions I’ve accrued along the way. All the Service Consultants are there to lend a hand and put me at ease with any concerns. Everyone there is in good spirits and knowledgeable. I look forward to each visit knowing I’m in good hands as well as my car. I’m thankful for the positive atmosphere and how helpful the staff are and how safety is always put first." -Casey, October 2nd, 2024 "To whom it may concern: I wish to once again commend Rodney the sales consultant for his overwhelming knowledge and understanding of what the consumer is looking for and needs in a very professional manner. This is my fifth Subaru i could not be any happier thanks to Rodney. Rodney is a tremendous asset to the Subaru dealership.. Thank you!!" -Sam, October 1st, 2024 As we celebrate these successes, we’re also proud to announce our annual Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Event in partnership with Pawsitive Possibilities Rescue, Inc. This month, as retailers support their local animal shelters, our showroom and service center will become a welcoming space for those looking to find a new road trip companion as we host our Adoption Event on October 13th, 2024! RSVP today! You may just discover the perfect furry friend to join your adventures! This adoption event is a part of our broader philanthropic efforts under the Subaru Love Promise Subaru Loves Learning mission, where we continue to champion education initiatives for children in our community. Our recent sponsorship of Alternatives for Children is just one of the many ways we’re giving back. We also had a fantastic time at the Subaru Motorsports Car Show featuring Bucky Lasek, EFI Logics, Subimods.com, and local favorite Terry and Yaki, where the community came together to celebrate Subaru passion and camaraderie. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Competition Subaru (@competitionsubaru) But that’s not all! We’re excited to see the growing popularity across the entire Subaru lineup, including the fantastic electric Subaru Solterra, which represents our commitment to sustainability and innovation. Additionally, the beloved 2024 Subaru Impreza RS is making waves among both New and returning Subaru enthusiasts. At Competition Subaru, we believe in building a strong community, and events like Subaru Loves Pets help us connect with our customers and support local animal shelters. We invite you to join us for this special adoption event, where you can find a new companion, whether- four-legged or four-wheeled, and make a difference in a pet’s life.

Celebrating our 2024 Subaru Loves Learning Impact

At Competition Subaru, community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. This August, we were thrilled to participate again in Subaru Loves Learning Month, a nationwide initiative dedicated to supporting education and empowering students. Partnering with Anthony Alfano Elementary School in Central Islip, Long Island, we worked hand-in-hand to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners. Subaru Loves Learning Month is all about giving back to the community by focusing on the importance of education. Throughout August, we humbly requested donations alongside our commitment to supporting the students and staff at Anthony Alfano Elementary School. One of the highlights of this year’s initiative was our recent visit to the school, where we hand-delivered a plethora of supply kits for local students. From notebooks and pencils to art supplies and stationary, we provided essential materials that foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning for life. Our visit to Anthony Alfano Elementary School allowed us to see firsthand the impact of our contributions. By directly delivering these much-needed supplies, we were able to connect with the students and teachers in a meaningful way. The excitement and appreciation shown to the local educational community reinforces the power of education and shows the difference that a supportive community can make. The success of Subaru Loves Learning Month wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our customers and community members. Your contributions and enthusiasm helped make a difference in the local lives of the students right here on Long Island at Anthony Alfano Elementary School. Together, we created an environment where every child feels valued, supported, excited and extremely prepared for their educational journey. We’re filled with gratitude for the opportunity on the continued success of Subaru Loves Learning Month. Thank you to all who have given to give back to our community. At Competition Subaru, we believe that supporting education is key to building a brighter future for all. We look forward to continuing our partnership with local community organizations, and ensuring that every child has the chance to reach their full potential. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared their sweet sentiments and words of support and generously dropped off donations, helping make this month a success. Through being Long Island strong, we are driving positive change and shaping the future, one school, classroom and student at a time.

Subaru Loves The Earth, You Should Too!

Our beautiful planet is a masterpiece in its own right. We should all care about taking care and cleaning up a place we all call home. We can do so much to help! Recycling, using sustainable products, planting in nature are only the beginning. “ …we feel it’s our personal responsibility to protect Earth’s natural wonders and encourage our retailers and customers to engage in smart environmental practices…” -Tom Doll, president and CEO, Subaru of America, Inc. Subaru works hard to reduce waste and minimize the carbon footprint left with materials being used. While these are great steps forward, we also preserve natural spaces which leads us to.. we are proud to announce our partnership with One Tree Planted! One Tree Planted is a nonprofit organization on a mission to make saving the planet one step easier by planting more trees in our environment. Subaru has decided that with every new car purchased we donate a tree to the land. Helping the earth can now be as simple as donating a dollar! This organization’s main goal is to globally reforest. Their goal is to simplify the process of helping the environment by planting trees themselves. They understand life can become busy and hard to find time between responsibilities, family, work and life happens, but with just one dollar you are donating a plant back into nature. Not only are you donating to a created cause but we are investing in ourselves and the lives of our future generations. We as humans reap so many of the benefits of nature. All the trees you walk alongside in Nissequogue River State Park provide us oxygen to breathe, growing the products out of the ground for our consumption and the flowers you pick from Cold Spring Harbor to give to your mom on mother’s day. “Together we can restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world.” -One Tree Planted The organization has been able to more than double the amount of trees planted each year. They work with partners in over 43 countries in places like North America, Latin America, Africa and Europe. They reported that over 40,000,000 trees have been planted across the globe since 2014. One Tree Planted was able to more than double their impact from 2020, in 2021. With your help, we can continue to move toward a better and green-er future! Competition Subaru Proud To Support Paige Keely Foundation

The Paige Elizabeth Keely Foundation is a nonprofit 501c3 (EIN-84-5024812) organization that was created in honor of Paige Keely, who passed away at the age of 6, due to a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Early AVM detection can help to change the course of this disease. Competition Subaru is proud to support the Paige Keely Foundation at the Wave of Change Gala on October 6th 2021. The Paige Keely Foundation Founder and President Gina Keely created The Paige Elizabeth Keely Foundation in hopes to increase funding for early AVM detection and to raise awareness for AVM’s, educate communities about this treatable condition, and to establish early detection screening programs. The Foundation is working on opening a Brain Imaging Center here on Long Island. This will open so many doors for early detection of not only Brain AVM’s, and Aneurysms, but will also detect other unknown conditions someone may have. Our imaging center will allow any child or adult, insured or not, to have the ability receive MRA imaging. What Are Pediatric AVMs? Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs) are abnormal tangles of arteries and veins that can occur anywhere in the body. These abnormalities are typically congenital and are present at birth. They usually are not detected unless they cause seizures, weakness, or have ruptured and bled in the brain. Neurologic or life threatening sequelae are associated with each hemorrhage. There is a 4% per year risk of hemorrhage once an AVM has become symptomatic. Treatment is required to reduce that risk and subsequent problems associated with additional hemorrhage. Treatment for AVMs can be quite complex and it is critical that patients with this disorder be managed and surgically treated in a center with extensive AVM experience. Causes of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) The cause of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) is not known. AVMs are thought to be congenital (present at birth), and researchers believe that they may arise from developmental derangements at the embryonic stage of vessel formation (at the fetal stage). However, this theory has never been clearly established, and some researchers believe that AVMs may arise after birth. Unlike the association of head trauma, or other injuries with the development of dural arteriovenous fistulae (DAVF), there are no known environmental risk factors for AVMs. Most AVMs are termed “sporadic,” which implies that they arise spontaneously without a specific gene mutation being passed on from parent to child. There is no clear familial inheritance, except in families with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). HHT patients are at some 10,000 fold higher risk of developing a brain AVM than the non-HHT population. Importance of Early Detection Screening & Scanning Identifying and treating Brain Arteriovenous Malformations & Aneurysms before they rupture can and will save lives. If Brain AVM’s & Aneurysms rupture, effective treatment becomes more difficult, and generally a person’s chances of surviving are much lower. Brain AVM’s & Aneurysms that have not ruptured typically have little to no symptoms, until it’s too late. Wave of Change Gala The Paige Keely Foundation is hosting their upcoming Wave of Change Gala on October 6th 2021. The purpose of the Gala is to honor Paige, AVM Awareness month and to raise funding for our imaging center. All the proceeds of the Gala will be used to fund two MRA imaging machines. Help Make A Difference Please consider making a donation to the Paige Elizabeth Keely Foundation. No family should have to go through the pain of losing a child when early detection could have kept this beautiful 6-year-old child here today.
