At Competition Subaru, community engagement is at the heart of everything we do. This August, we were thrilled to participate again in Subaru Loves Learning Month, a nationwide initiative dedicated to supporting education and empowering students. Partnering with Anthony Alfano Elementary School in Central Islip, Long Island, we worked hand-in-hand to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners. Subaru Loves Learning Month is all about giving back to the community by focusing on the importance of education. Throughout August, we humbly requested donations alongside our commitment to supporting the students and staff at Anthony Alfano Elementary School. One of the highlights of this year’s initiative was our recent visit to the school, where we hand-delivered a plethora of supply kits for local students. From notebooks and pencils to art supplies and stationary, we provided essential materials that foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning for life. Our visit to Anthony Alfano Elementary School allowed us to see firsthand the impact of our contributions. By directly delivering these much-needed supplies, we were able to connect with the students and teachers in a meaningful way. The excitement and appreciation shown to the local educational community reinforces the power of education and shows the difference that a supportive community can make. The success of Subaru Loves Learning Month wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our customers and community members. Your contributions and enthusiasm helped make a difference in the local lives of the students right here on Long Island at Anthony Alfano Elementary School. Together, we created an environment where every child feels valued, supported, excited and extremely prepared for their educational journey. We’re filled with gratitude for the opportunity on the continued success of Subaru Loves Learning Month. Thank you to all who have given to give back to our community. The Competition Subaru Family is proud to join the rest of their sister stores in supporting Alternatives for Children’s 26th Annual Classic and Sports Car Rally! Alternatives for Children is a not-for-profit private school that provides educational experiences to a broad spectrum of children from across Long Island. With locations in Aquebogue, East Setauket, Dix Hills, and Southampton, they are at the forefront of this mission on Long Island. Every year, Alternatives for Children holds a rally as a fundraiser for their amazing efforts. With the help of the local car enthusiast community, they are able to raise money that directly funds these schools. This year the rally will be held on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, starting at the Alternatives for Children location in East Setauket, and finishing at The Vineyards Country Club in Riverhead. Different tiers of sponsorship options will be available, as well as raffle tickets for a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000, as well as second, and third place prizes! Competition Subaru of Smithtown was honored to host our second-ever Competition Subaru Open Shop Night on Wednesday, January 17th 2024! With delicious empanadas from Empanadas and More located in Nesconset, New York, all of our Long Island friends and #CompetitionSubaruFamily came together to celebrate a night of Subaru comradery! With scrumptious free food, exciting Subaru Open Shop giveaways, a free raffle with THREE winners and crisp refreshments, there wasn't a single empanada or soft drink left! With such a complimentary turnout, we know everyone in attendance, from near like Lake Grove, Miller Place and Kings Park, or from far, like Wading River, Upton, White Plains, or Nassau County, New York, our excited event-goers had equally as much fun as all of our friendly staff did! Our passionate General Manager, James Buzzetta, brought his full fleet of super Subaru vehicles! His rare 1970 Subaru 360, the first Subaru Production Car ever imported into the United States, was one of the many Subaru vehicles showcased safety in our Service shop! Thank you endlessly to Sal's Auto Body, located in St. James, New York, near Smithtown, Ronkonkoma and Sound Beach, New York, for taking wordlessly excellent care of James' stout, rare Subaru! Every dollar you donate during this period will be generously matched by Subaru, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $150,000. By joining this initiative, you can directly impact the lives of those affected by cancer, providing them with the support and resources they need during their challenging journey. Subaru and its retailers are partnering with LLS and local hospitals or cancer treatment centers to provide comfort and encouragement to patients facing cancer. Subaru stores nationwide are inviting retailers and customers to write messages of hope and support, accompanied by warm blankets, which will be delivered to patients.
