The base 2.5-liter flat-4 engine that powers the 2022 Subaru Outback offers the best possible mix of performance and efficiency. It has 182 horsepower and gets up to 33 miles per gallon (mpg), making it a more economical alternative than the Kia Sorento, which only gets up to 29 mpg.
