2021 Subaru Forester Receives Top Safety Pick+ Award From IIHS

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ Awards identify the best vehicle choices for safety within size categories. Their evaluations help consumers choose vehicles that offer a high level of crash protection and essential safety features.

2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Award

To receive a Top Safety Pick+ Award for 2021, a vehicle must receive ‘good’ ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. Vehicles must also receive ‘advanced’ or ‘superior’ ratings for available front crash prevention – vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations, as well as acceptable or good standard headlights.

The 2021 Subaru Forester received ‘good’ ratings on all crashworthiness tests including both driver-side and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints & seats. The model also received a ‘good’ rating on crash avoidance & mitigation tests for headlights and ‘superior’ ratings on front crash prevention for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian.
