2021 Subaru Ascent vs. 2021 Ford Expedition
The Subaru Ascent is simply irresistible on the outside. It has that sturdy and muscular physique that suits the requirements of car buyers out there. Inside it, there is plenty of room, both in the cabin and cargo areas. It also has a long list of reliable technologies.
The 2021 Ford Expedition, on the other hand, boasts of a muscular and powerful engine. It has straightforward infotainment controls that make using the interface easier than usual. There is also a spacious cabin space inside.
Design & Style
With a cabin area that expands to over 86 cubic feet of space when the last two rows are folded, the 2021 Ascent definitely oozes with charm inside. Looking good on the outside, wait until you get to sit in its spacious cabin. This has plenty of legroom and headroom, thus giving taller and bigger passengers enough space to breathe in and stretch anytime they want. It also has a standard stain-resistant cloth upholstery, as well as a power liftgate.
When looking at the Expedition 2021 version from the outside, you will see how roomy it is inside. This has a spacious cargo area which expands to 104 cubic feet when the second and third rows are folded. This is not the same thing you will enjoy for its two-row versions though. The basic configuration seats five, but can accommodate eight in models where there are three rows. The low-rent cabin materials are a bit disappointing for this ride.
Technology & Safety
The 2021 Ascent uses a 6.5-inch touch screen, and has physical buttons for audio and climate controls. Its Starlink infotainment system can be used for functions of its satellite radio, six speakers, four USB ports, and Bluetooth. It flawlessly integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too. On the safety side, it has automatic high beams and steering-responsive LED headlights added to standard features like adaptive cruise control, forward automatic emergency braking, and lane centering and lane keep assist, among others.
For the 2021 Expedition, it carries the SYNC 3 infotainment system which is said to be user-friendly and straightforward in many aspects. It is disgusting though that the Ford navigation system cannot be used simultaneously with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The touch screen displays dated graphics, making it lag behind its rivals in terms of overall setup. It has four USB ports, six speakers, and a Wi-Fi hot spot, and uses an eight-inch touch screen. Safety wise, it is equipped with automatic high-beam headlights, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and a rearview camera.
Performance
The 2021 Ascent gets a total of 260 horsepower for its 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The base engine for the Expedition delivers 375 horsepower for its EcoBoost V6 engine. While there is plenty of power in it, the ride does not deliver the flawless acceleration that you are looking for.
The Bottom Line
Loaded with an amazing set of features embodied in its well-constructed physique, the 2021 Ascent definitely has a more modern vibe to it when compared to that of the 2021 Ford Expedition. Your family will surely love it.
